Community Lead

Employment type:  Full time

Job Description

12 months FTC

This is a field based role covering the Norwich - Peterborough region

The role of the Community Lead is to support residents and communities through different stages of Virgin Media O2 build, working with departments across the business to build meaningful connections, bring people and communities closer together, and create a sense of belonging.

Your role will be to establish a presence in the different communities where Virgin Media O2’s build activity has been scheduled, and to prepare them for our arrival! You'll hold community information events before and during build, ensuring our resident’s interests and wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do, and proactively spotting areas of concern. You'll also work alongside our sales and marketing teams to understand how best to support post build activity - how we turn residents into customers and leave behind a positive presence that demonstrates our strong values and commitment to our communities!

This isn't your typical 9 to 5 role - you'll manage your own time, on the road, out and about in our communities. You'll meet with our partners and local authorities too, building positive relationships and establishing yourself as a key contact. It goes without saying that you'll be a people person, able to build rapport and empathise with people from all walks of life. You'll also be super organised with great negotiation skills, and dare we say it, bundles of resilience! In return, you'll get a competitive salary, brand new company car, and a role that really allows you to make a difference.

We support and encourage you to be your authentic self throughout your application journey with us.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Great organisation skills, being able to manage your own time and organise several different workloads at a time
  • Proven ability to build strong internal & external relationships
  • Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is required

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Preferred experience of managing telecommunications works within the public highway
  • Experience of understanding commercial and contractor obligations under commercial arrangements such as NEC4.
  • Experienced managing excavation & reinstatement of street works

What's in it for you

Our goal is to celebrate our people, their lives and everything in-between. We aim to create a culture that empowers everyone to bring the best versions of themselves to work each and every day. We believe the most inclusive and diverse culture makes for a better business and a brighter world.

Working at Virgin Media O2, you get a bumper reward package bursting with benefits, and loads of extras you can add if you’d like to. These are designed to support both you and your loved ones, making sure that you’re covered no matter what life throws your way.

Next steps

If we feel like a place where you can belong, we'd love to learn more about you as a person and your experience to date. Once you've submitted an application the next steps of the process, if successful, are likely to include a competency based interview.

When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you. Thanks for your patience in the meantime and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
