Job Description

TUI Group is the world’s number one integrated tourism business. TUI Airline provides the TUI tour operators across Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, UK and France with dedicated seat capacity to serve owned and committed hotel beds, enabling a high level of control and certainty of flying capacity, allowing flexibility of operations from local European regional airports into destinations worldwide.

The Senior Data Science & Analytics Product Owner role will be part of our international TUI Airline Data Science team and work on key strategic projects touching many parts of the airline business. The role has accountability for the design and development of the analytical solutions using a variety of technologies, and techniques, and working alongside IT, business leaders, and other data science colleagues. Solutions will be developed to be deployed across multiple markets, so although location is flexible some travel will be required.

The Senior Data Science & Analytics Product Owner role will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will lead the ideation, development, and delivery of cutting-edge analytics solutions and products that contribute to our operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including other data scientists colleagues, engineers, designers, business leaders and business analysts, to translate business needs into actionable product features. Solutions will be developed to be deployed across multiple markets, so although location is flexible some travel will be required.

**This role can be based in Luton, Hanover, Rijswijk or Brussels and offers flexible virtual working arrangements.**

**Applications close on 9th May 2024**

ABOUT THE JOB

  • As a Senior Data Science & Analytics Product Owner you’ll likely have sole responsibility for an analytics product or may work as part of a team on a larger product. You will need to work with multiple senior stakeholders to deliver business value at all stages of the solution development cycle.

  • You’ll take the lead among a team of data scientists, directly line managing junior roles, and coordinating priorities and day to day activities for other senior consultants on the product, as well as influencing other stakeholders and contributors to ensure delivery.

  • You will be expected to understand the business problem and identify potential data solutions, playing the lead role in structuring and scoping the solutions and priorities, and moving them forward to successful implementation.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and pain points, and translate them into clear product vision and user stories.

  • Define and prioritize the product backlog based on value, business impact, and technical feasibility, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

  • Work closely with business leaders and analysts to define data requirements, metrics, and analytics models necessary to drive insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the airline industry, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to guide the direction of the analytics products.

  • Conduct regular meetings with development teams to communicate product vision, gather feedback, and ensure that the development process is on track.

  • Make informed decisions on feature trade-offs, scope changes, and priorities, considering both business and technical constraints.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the analytics products, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor the performance and adoption of analytics products post-launch, gather feedback, and iterate on features to continuously improve value and user experience.

  • You will operate in a flexible and agile way, mobilising your team and relevant stakeholders when necessary, to deliver to short notice requests for urgent analysis, and/or including areas outside of your normal product remit, for e.g. union negotiations and urgent business decision-making

  • You may work across multiple projects and will normally be part of a larger team of developers, architects and data scientists.

  • Strong interest in technology and commitment to application of data and science in decision-making.
