Job Description

In this role you will support the Head of People Services & Reward in the delivery of the Reward strategy for TUI UK & Ireland supporting our Airline, Head Office and Retail teams (c10,000 employees) whom are on a variety of terms and conditions.

As a Reward subject matter expert you will work with HR colleagues and stakeholders across the business in order to provide advice and support across various Reward initiatives and interventions.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Develop and maintain a broad and deep understanding of all of TUI UK&I’s business areas (e.g. airline, head office, retail) including their commercial and organisational priorities in order to provide pro-active reward solutions for their non-executive populations.
  • Take responsibility for the organisations (non-exec) pay framework, job evaluation, market data and benchmarking processes; providing in-depth analysis and recommendations in order to enable the organisation to make accurate and informed pay decisions.
  • Act as the UK&I Reward subject matter expert providing pragmatic advice and guidance to internal HR stakeholders, colleague representative bodies and senior leaders up to board Director level across the business.
  • Plan, propose and deliver core annual reward processes including the annual pay, bonus and benefits cycles.
  • Work in partnership with the HR Business partners and other Group HR and Reward functions to ensure that key local and global Reward activity is communicated and applied effectively and gaps are identified and addressed.
  • Pro-actively identify areas requiring Reward intervention, develop suitable tools and support HR colleagues and business stakeholders in understanding and applying recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve our Reward programmes – diagnose gaps between current and desired states and propose solutions to resolve those gaps, shaping the decision making process and influencing stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide support and in some cases lead on Reward and HR systems projects and reviews as they arise such as gender pay gap reporting and local market, or Group initiated projects.
  • Work closely with the organisations finance and payroll team to ensure that key costs (e.g. bonus accrual, salary levels) are correctly tracked and recorded, acting as a central point of contact to address any questions and challenge that may arise.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in all areas of Reward including legislative and market related changes.
  • Alongside the Head of Reward develop and communicate a holistic, cost effective and valued total Reward offering.
  • Work closely with the HR System and HR Management information team to ensure processes and interactions are as effective as possible.
  • Play an active role within the wider Markets & Airline Reward team and UK&I HR team ensuring that more junior colleagues are supported and developed.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrable Reward experience including a track record of working with and managing pay and grading frameworks
  • Experience of managing small to medium scale, multifaceted Reward projects including but not limited to annual pay and bonus cycles
  • In-depth understanding of job evaluation (ideally Hay/ Korn Ferry) and its practical application in a fast moving and diverse business
  • A proven ability to analyse and work with data combined with a confidence in dealing with large data volumes and complexity
  • Able to consult, analyse and diagnose business issues and translate these into practical Reward solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Strong excel skills with an ability to build and maintain appropriate tools and models
  • High levels of personal integrity and comfortable in operating in an ambiguous fast paced constantly changing environment
