Job Description

The Governance & Support team ensures Group Purchasing’s accommodation contracts are compliant with legal and financial requirements. They manage controls for more than 20,000 contracts and 8,000 suppliers each year, with financial risk running into hundreds of millions of Euros.

The role holder will support the Governance team on Legal matters, Compliance, Reclaims and Security, Health & Safety and document control. They will be responsible for ensuring correct approvals and terms & conditions are in place to protect TUI against any risk of financial or reputational loss.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • You will support the Governance & Support Team on governance and legal/contractual matters such as contract amendments, assignments, Letters of Intent, Purchasing Manual and other matters.

  • You will be responsible for responding to all enquiries received via the Governance & Commercial mailbox. You must ensure controlled documents are only issued to Purchasers if they are demonstrably compliant with company requirements.

  • You will administer several tracker sheets, and will need to manage these using your knowledge of Excel data functions, such as formulas, pivot tables etc

  • You will be responsible for collating data and meeting reporting deadlines to ensure Group Purchasing fulfil German Supply Chain Act reporting and other Compliance requirements.

  • As part of the Group Purchasing team, you will participate on projects to develop the business and optimise operational processes.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating Reclaims, and reporting current status of outstanding shortfalls in recoveries to Group Product & Purchasing Director

  • You will support the Head of [Governance / Sourcing Strategy and Commercial Support] to ensure all requirements of Crisis Management and Group Security, Health and Safety are met within target.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a Law degree, or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience of being able to apply their legal understanding and offer legal advice within a commercial environment and framework is desireable

  • You have the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and deliver to tight deadlines

  • You are a team player, ready to adapt to changing circumstances and support colleagues across Governance & Support

  • You have a service-oriented mind-set, with a strong customer focus

  • You can demonstrate commercial acumen and analytical thinking/numerical reasoning skills

  • You have effective communication skills – both written and verbal; you will need to feel comfortable when presenting to Directors, teams of Purchasers and experts in fields outwith Group Purchasing

  • Proficient knowledge and skills of all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills. Any additional language advantageous

  • Experience of working within the travel industry would be desirable
