Overview

The Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) business is critical to delivering on this mission and vision, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, which is growing rapidly in response to unprecedented demand for Microsoft services. CO+I operates one of the largest cloud networks on the planet – comprised of more than 160 Datacenters, 130+ edge sites, 2+ million miles of fiber, and millions of servers and network and storage devices.

The CO+I Global Supplier Management team is seeking a seasoned Technical Program Manager with the passion to drive value across complex supplier relationships and demonstrated experience in supplier management. Strong analytical skills, using data to design process that scale, effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, and the drive to continuously improve and achieve business objectives will be critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and drive process improvement in the supplier management framework within CO+I organizations to deliver key results that align with organizational goals.
  • Assess supplier capability and value, identifying tactics to improve performance, and developing strategic approaches to manage risk.
  • Lead end to end supplier lifecycle management from contract negotiation, onboarding, relationship development, and relationship management.
  • Establish a governance model, and drive resolution of operational and non-operational issue management.
  • Lead rhythm of business planning.
  • Lead required business reviews with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Conduct gap analysis and drive action items to closure.
  • Maintain supplier performance scorecard information, reporting dashboard and deliver summary overviews and related communications to both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure suppliers are compliant with all Microsoft supplier policies, and that contract documents are accurate, compliant, appropriately reviewed, and well maintained.

  • Ability to think strategically while also staying on top of required day-to-day tactical execution, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunities along with generating new ideas to meet business goals.
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm or disprove assumptions, and measure success.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, other applicable fields of study, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Experience in global account management in supply chain, sourcing, supplier accounts, supplier relationship management, procurement, or other related experience.
  • Experience in Software contracting, understanding standard software terms and performance (SLA) expectations.
  • Experience in category management managing multiple site software asset types (SCADA, Building Automation, Battery Management, etc.), equipment types, etc. or other related areas of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with developing and implementing organizational frameworks, standards, and processes.
  • Certification or equivalent experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, PMI, PMP, or other process improvement and project management methodologies. Experience with other applicable frameworks is also a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience and success with delivering cross functional programs, including ownership, and driving results.
  • Experience within a data center environment, manufacturing, maritime engineering, energy sector, oil and gas industry, or another type of operations environment is a plus.
  • Ability to support primarily all time zones in the United States, and Europe along with other similar time zones as needed.
