As a Cloud Network Engineer in Azure Fiber, you will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic expansion and operational excellence of our solid core and hollow core fiber networks. Under the guidance of senior engineers and management, you will contribute to integrating state-of-the-art hollow core fiber technologies and maintaining our critical dark fiber assets. This position is a gateway to developing your skills in a dynamic, innovative environment that prioritizes a customer-first approach and a robust DevOps culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support and Execution: You will ntegrate hollow core and solid core fiber technologies into our fiber operations framework.
  • Operational Support: You will closely monitor and maintain the reliability and efficiency of both solid core and hollow core fiber networks, ensuring high standards of operational excellence. You will oversee and run all network changes related to our dark fiber.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with senior engineers and other team members, contributing to projects that enhance customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Learning and Development: You will actively engage in learning opportunities to deepen your understanding of fiber network technologies and operations.
  • Process and Automation: You will reate and document process and automation improvements aimed at enhancing network quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical experience in network design, development, and automation
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
  • Experience in network planning, operations, or design and engineering, with a keen interest in fiber networks
  • Basic understanding of fiber network technologies, network design, deployment, and operations
  • A customer-first mentality, with a focus on delivering high-quality service

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with hollow core or multi-core fiber technologies
  • Experience automating network deployment and operations
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in projects that require collaboration across teams
