Job Description

Job Description:

Pet Nutrition (PN) is the most vibrant category in the FMCG sector. As we work to transform this exciting category, a new program named Shepherd, has been mobilized by the Mars Pet Nutrition leadership team. Shepherd is focused on the implementation of SAP S/4Hana for Pet Nutrition. Much more than a simple “Lift and Shift,” this program will undertake a major process simplification and harmonization scope as we digitally transform our business.

Shepherd is focused primarily on eight mega process areas: Finance, Source to Pay (procurement and vendor mgmt.), Plan to Fulfill (manufacturing and distribution), Lead to Cash (order processing and payment), Governance, Engage to Consume (marketing), Idea to Market (R&D), and Recruit to Retire (HR). This transformation requires thought leadership, quality decision making, deep technical know-how, and an ability to navigate complex business challenges while applying a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to each of these mega processes. As part of Shepherd, a new role has been created to lead Data & Analytics within those process areas.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent (IT Degree preferred in particular computer science, Data & Analytics science or related field)
  • Experience with S/4 HANA transformation and leading D&A team members across Finance, Source to Pay, Plan to Fulfill, Lead to Cash, Idea to Market (R&D), and Recruit to Retire (HR)
  • Experience working in sizeable and complex digital transformations in large global organizations resulting in high adoption of new tools
  • Experience in Data cleansing/enrichment/migration along with over Data & Analytic skills.
  • Hands-on data engineering/development experience, preferably in a cloud/big data environment
  • Able to manage expectations in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and deliver excellence
  • Strong people management skills with a track record of nurturing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of distilling complex concepts for a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated proactive and results-oriented approach with a “get things done” mentality
  • Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams and external vendors

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Provide Data & Analytics leadership across all key PN Data & Analytics activities.
  • Act as a point of contact within PN for all Data & Analytics-related issues.
  • Provide resources and support for ongoing program Data & Analytics management activities.
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics network and other key stakeholders to ensure Data & Analytics consistency and quality.
  • Support the implementation and deployment of Data & Analytics standards across PN and ensure ongoing compliance with Data & Analytics policies and standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure standards are integrated into business processes.
  • Monitor the impact of new Data & Analytics standards on functional processes and provide feedback.
  • Educate and train team members on new standards and processes.
  • Report on progress and challenges to the Data & Analytics governance board or relevant authority.
  • Assist in resolving issues that arise from standard deployment within the functional domain.
  • Report on Data & Analytics management performance metrics to senior management.

Context and Scope

Project and Programme are often marked by a seamless data transition from the old system/landscape to the new one. As part of Shepherd SAP S/4Hana Digital Transformation program, we therefore require someone with high level expertise in D&A management (ETL)/tools and experience in leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Pet Nutrition area and will be working closely with all other counterparts in Mars (i.e. Royal Canin, Corporate, Snacking and Food) to merge all key timelines and activities related to the D&A.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with over 130,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
