The Role

We are looking for an aspiring JavaScript developer who has an interest in using JavaScript as a tool, rather than building websites. This includes; managing client website tagging including custom JavaScript snippets, assisting in running conversion rate optimisation tests through client-side JavaScript.

Sitting in our Media Solutions team, this role will work closely with our Technology, Strategy and Media teams to deliver dynamic solutions across our client set.

Over time, and with the right candidate, this role will have an opportunity to grow in scope.

Responsibilities

As a Marketing Technology Specialist at Impression, you will:

- Manage technical marketing platform projects, which will often require understanding of web technologies and digital analytics
- Write, test and deploy custom JavaScript snippets for client websites and in Tag Manager applications to solve challenges ranging from simple to challenging
- Specify technical documentation for client development teams
- QA and code-review work by colleagues, client IT/development teams, and third parties
- Document solutions, comment code, and keep good coding standards
- Write A/B testing experiments in client-side JavaScript (working with an experimentation team)
- Enjoy sharing your passion for website technologies and marketing technologies through public speaking and thought leadership/blog writing
- Contribute to Impression’s learning and development programme and coach and develop development skills

Requirements

To be considered for the JavaScript (Marketing Technology) Specialist role at Impression, you will need to:

- Demonstrate proficiency in modern client and server-side JavaScript programming through code examples
- Demonstrate some stakeholder management skills
- Be a team player, capable of building relationships across teams at all levels
- Communicate your passion for web technologies in general
- Have demonstrable experience managing multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines
- Be a natural when it comes to adopting new software and technologies
- Be a strong communicator, both written and verbally

Person Specification

To be considered, you will need to demonstrate:

- Good client-side JavaScript proficiency
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- A keenness to be in a client-facing role
