We are seeking a Capital Manager with strong coding experience to join our capital modelling team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the continuous development and running of the internal model. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to non-traditional actuarial projects using advanced analytics, thereby adding value to the wider business at Centrica.
Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them – meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. This role can be mostly based at home with occasional meetings required at our Centrica sites.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the capital managers/head of capital with the production of the regulatory and economic capital results.
- Assist capital managers with parametrisation, running of the capital model and preparing review-ready outputs.
- Support the testing and validation of model inputs and results, helping with the management of internal controls for the PRA and validation reports.
- Foster relationships across the wider business. They will have the opportunity to interpret and convincingly articulate the results of the modelling to various stakeholders.
- Work closely with capital managers to continuously develop and improve the capital model.
- Streamline/optimise existing capital modelling processes to promote efficiency.
- Improve accuracy of outputs by suggesting alternative model methodology and parametrisation approaches.
- Improve existing results dashboard/MI.
- Contributing to non-traditional actuarial projects which involve advanced analytics in the Energy sector (Value Add projects). This will involve identifying opportunities to build bespoke forecasting models/GLMs/broaden the use of existing capital model to provide strategic insights about the business and support commercial decision making in the Energy sector.
Who are we looking for?
- Analytical Skills: Excellent ability to clean, manipulate, and interpret data.
- Proficiency in R: Demonstratable experience with R programming. Other coding languages such as Python is also beneficial.
- Data Visualisation & MI: Ability to create dashboards and use software such as PowerBI for data visualisation.
- Statistical Analysis: Strong background in applied statistical analysis, including but not limited to GLM and data simulations.
- Solvency II Experience: Knowledge of Solvency II would be helpful, but if you have extensive coding experience then an interest in learning Solvency II is sufficient.
- Good communication skills: Ability to maintain relationships, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
