Warehouse Material Handler
About the role
Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for organizing shipping logistics, receiving materials, and maintaining the shop and warehouse areas at the Houston location, and assisting with Supply Chain Management in warehouse operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive and kit project materials.
- Maintain PO receiving in Deltek.
- Organize, clean and maintain work and storage areas in shop and warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Store, label and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment in storage areas in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Assists with the supply chain management in warehouse operations and inventory of tools and equipment.
- Examine and inspect parts, tools or supplies for wear or damage, and notify supervisor for disposal or return to vendor.
- Keep shop and warehouse areas neat, clean and clutter-free.
Location & Flexibility:
In terms of location, we have an office in Houston, TX. This role requires to be on onsite. This role is a full-time position.
About you
Education and Work Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year prior experience in warehouse operations
Skills
- Basic working knowledge of warehouse operations with 2 yrs experience minimum.
- Knowledge and experience in inventory control.
- Preferred Fork-Lift certificate (With minimum of 1 year experience).
- Must have good computer skills (Excel, Word).
- HS Diploma or GED. An Associate Degree or other college education is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate and drive a forklift (proof of training certificate is required).
- Ability to keep and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to follow instructions and organize work duties accordingly.
- Effective communication skills - written and oral.
- Able to effectively engage in multiple projects at one time.
- Able and willing to work independently or in a team environment; with ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people including engineering, scientific, manufacturing and marine operations staff is essential.
Desired:
· 2+ years prior experience in warehouse operations preferred
